The essence of therapy is in the relationship between the therapist and the client. As such, it is important that you find a therapist who you feel you can really work with. With this in mind, I offer the initial session at a discounted rate of £25.
During the current COVID-19 pandemic, I am offering fees on a sliding scale of £40 to £50 – this is on a ‘say what you can pay’ basis. I also have some capacity to offer a further concession to students or people on low income.
If you are interested in working together, please call or email me so we can look at arranging our first session. I recognise that you may feel nervous or unsure about what to expect so I am happy to answer questions and offer any clarification before meeting.
In your first session, you will be able to explore your concerns with me and establish what you hope to get out of counselling. I may enquire about some background information relevant to the therapy and you will be able to ask questions to get any clarification you need. If you feel my service is not suitable for you at this stage, I can help you explore your options and will endeavour to offer you a referral more appropriate to your needs.
Sessions last for 50 minutes at a regular time slot each week. It is important to attend weekly since this provides a sense of continuity and consistency which are necessary to get the most out of therapy. If you would like to make an alternative arrangement, then I may be able to accommodate this if it seems appropriate and practical.
If you should need to cancel a session, please make sure you do so at least 24 hours beforehand to avoid being charged the full fee.
