Counselling fees

The essence of therapy is in the connection between the therapist and the client. As such, it is important that you find a therapist who you feel you can really work with. With this in mind, my fee for an initial session is discounted at £35.

My standard fee is £60 per 50 minute session. If you are on low or no income, then I may be able to offer you a concessionary rate – just contact me for further details. I may also be able to offer a reduced rate to counselling students who need to have counselling as part of their course.

Fees are payable online at least 24 hours before each session.

Going forward

If you are interested in working together, please call or email me to check for availability. I recognise that you may feel nervous or unsure about what to expect so I am happy to answer any questions you have before we meet. We can also arrange a short telephone consultation for free before booking a session.

First Session

In your first session, you will be able to explore your concerns with me and establish what you hope to get out of counselling. I may also enquire about some background information relevant to the work. Finally, you will be able to ask questions to get any further clarification you need. If you feel my service is suitable for you, we will then book more sessions.

Terms

Session length and regularity

Sessions generally last for 50 minutes at a regular time slot each week.

If you have an unpredictable timetable, I may have the capacity to be flexible with the time or day.

Confidentiality

I will provide you with a confidentiality agreement and written terms upon commencement of therapy. We will go through this in the first session when face-to-face. When online, you will need to read it beforehand and we will then cover it in the session too.

Cancellations

I charge full fee for sessions cancelled or missed with less than a week’s notice. If you want to reschedule, I will try to find a suitable time for you in the same working week. If this is not possible, the full fee will still be payable.

Professional Standards

I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). This means I work to their high professional standards and keep to their Ethical Framework. Should you have any complaints during our work together, I invite you to discuss this with me first. Failing this, the BACP would be able to provide you with guidance and support.

Data Protection

I am compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). You can view my privacy policy for further information around data protection.

Disclaimer for Non-UK Residents

I am based in England and trained and practice under UK Law. My working contract complies with the legal system in this country. Therefore, any claim or complaint must be brought through UK systems.
